Fire and Ice chapter 2

A year passed, and the day of the christening of the princesses had come. All who habited the castle were very rushed.
However in the princesses room, the nanny was finishing of dress the princesses, they had a beautiful white dresse with a ribbon around their waist and a ribbon with a flower in their hair.
-You are so beautiful. -told the nanny at finishing straighten Lara's dress.
The girls looked at each other, confused.
-ELISABETH! -the king called out of the room -we have to go.
-Yes your majesty! -replied Elisabeth, who already was getting enervated. When she was to get the girls they were gone.
She looked to her left and saw that they were trying to get to the window. Alissa was on all fours and Lara was trying to climb to get to the window.
-GIRLS! -shouted, bringing her hands to her head in panic.
She ran to them and them grabbed Lara, who pouted.
- You are really naughty! -said Elisabeth, grabbing then Alissa, who smiled, of course she had not realized it had not been good what she had done with her sister.
Elisabeth ran and ran through the halls and down the stairs leading to the palace entrance where were the king and queen.
-Finally Elisabeth... -said the king beating is foot impatiently.
-Sorry the delay your majesty.
Elisabeth nodded her head as she apologized.
The Queen was always more patient and rational, so she said:
-Oh, Elisabeth... don´t worry so much, it was not anything serious, besides you know how is my husband. And my daughters? Hope they didn´t caused too much trouble to wear.
-No... of course not. Dressing no, but to leave the room...
By saying this she gave a daughter to the Queen and the other to the king.
-What happened? -the king asked while Lara was placed comfortably in his arms.
Elisabeth was trying to think of funny ways to tell the king and queen of the incident, but nothing came to mind.
-The girls... went to the window.
She coughed as she spoke, her voice was hard for her to leave.
-What? -asked the king looking to his wife. -but how do they got there?
-Helping each other -replied Elisabeth looking for the girls who were very quiet in their parents arms. -they are very intelligent, but also good in making nonsense.
-Elisabeth got to be more careful, your job is to take care of them and not let them hurt.
-Yes sir, of course sir.
-Honey, don´t be so hard with her. They didn´t get hurt.
-But they could.
-Let's go to the church, that is already getting late. -finally said the queen. It seems that this time she managed to save Elisabeth from being scorned.
The king and queen mounted their horses, each carrying one of the princesses.
They ordered to open the gates, then they crossed half of the kingdom. Many people clapped when they saw the royalty, while others talked with each others.
When they reached the church, many dukes, duchesses and earls of neighboring kingdoms were waiting for them. Upon entering guests followed them.
The priest was waiting for them at the altar and when he saw the young princesses, he smiled.
-They are very beautiful my king. I have the felling that they will do great things.
The king nodded his head and smiled back.
The ceremony went smoothly and was to be a wonderful day, but the worst was to come, more precisely in the end of the afternoon with the return of the king and queen to the palace.
While the king and queen were waiting for the gates to open, Alissa had realized something and put her hand on her mother's arm and looked back. The Queen saw that something had called her daughter attention she looked in the same direction.
-Dear...- said the queen a little scared.
The king turned and came across a man covered by a hood and riding a black horse.
-MAJESTY! -cried the stranger.
-Who are you?
-No one! Just come to warn you.
A guard was preparing to attack, but the king motioned for him to retire.
-Warn me about what?
-Your daughters, the princesses. They will be cursed forever and there will be nothing you can do to prevent it.
-Oh no... murmured the queen, looking at their daughters and then to the king.
-How do you know that? You're a witch? Your the one who is gonna throw them that curse? Answer me !
-The only thing I can say is:
"Ice and fire are beautiful and powerful but also dangerous. It isn´t clear? Well you will be striked for fear!"
In the end of saying that the mysterious man went away at full speed, leaving the king and queen bewildered and terrified.
From that moment they feared for the lives of their daughters.
